The Scenario and Culture of Art in Vadodara city
I chose baroda for my graduation Because what I wanted to do was offered by best uni. In gujrat, and I belive that gujrat and baroda are like safest state and city according to me, not only safest but if you consider education baroda is the best city. So any girl out there looking for putting their foot out of their house for studies baroda is the best place according to me.
If you ask me how my journey here has been so far I would say..
There not more scope but there are enthusiastic favorable people who loves art, according to me and it is globally known that people over here are the best audience. But there is not much commercial aspects as an artist you get, that is why most of the artists from this city goes out to work.
As an aspiring artist what is see is at present appreciation and money are both essential, the later part is hard to earn in this city, a keen work is not much appreciated if you are an aspiring artist but if you go out and become pro. You are highly appreciated and even people will call you back but keen work is not served on regular bases. People now a days lost a taste for keen music, the reason is they don’t pay for quality work. The money factor is a motivational factor,money and work satisfaction goes together, and if one lacks in some part artists would not prefer those places to go often to perform.
My opinion on the city’s growth and culture is that you will find people adopting better fashion, most niche living patterns in some parts of baroda, you will observe the MSU which is the best uni. People staying in different parts of city who has got equal education has a vast living standard , most of the people adopt a strategy where they take education and move ahead, so highly or I would say well educated people does not take responsibility of this city, so people grows but city stays there only.
There are ample of opportunities seen for beginners but in real I would say for aspiring artists the opportunities are none. Because the opportunities which are provided is gujrati sugam sangeet and gujrati cinema, the content is so rich but people associated are not that keen and full of richness so the opportunity is provided are not the one helps artists grow, the culture is that people don’t pay so biggest artists does not come to city cause the willingness to appreciate the art but not willing to provide the resources for it to grow.
I have seen many biggest artist does not prefer baroda apart from baroda dayfestival , people will need to understand that they have to look beyond free passes, they have to look beyond sponsored events so artists will look forward to come to city, so if this trend goes on the city will be a drained place in terms of art, cause if motivation is not there which artist would prefer to visit this amazing city.
